Wedding Fashion Trends in Pakistan
With the onset of September, Wedding Season is in full swing in Pakistan. And wedding means loads of new dresses, shoes, vibrant jewellery…and of course lots of fun. Although the bride is always the most beautiful girl on her big day, but that doesn’t mean that all the other girls in a wedding are less than a princess! In following lines we’ll discuss the latest wedding trends in clothes and makeup that will help you to decide your look for this wedding season.
Pakistani designers have shown in The Bridal Fashion design Week 2013 that bright colours are no more in trend for bridal dresses. So the bride and her friends should go for softer tones this season. Light brown and off white colours are very much in trend. Maria B’s Bridal and Party Wear Collection includes lehengas in shades of mauve, lavender, pink and light brown.
As for the designs, lehengas, angrakhas, frocks and long shirts, all are in trend. You can choose the one that appeals and suits you the most. Designers are using all sorts of embellishments for their bridal and party wear collections, including stones, beads, dabki, nukshi, gotta, sequins, kundan and patchwork. Maria B dresses are adorned with intricate embellishments done all across the lehenga borders, dupattas and shirts. Tena Durrani, a well known designer, has worked with voile, jacquard, chiffons, jamavar and silk in her latest collection. Ahsan Hussain, a Lahore based designer, has included Plush lehengas and bridal frocks with mirror and diamante work in his collection. Powdery jamawar, plush katan, net and silk with labored gildings at lehenga and dupatta borders are also included.
Like dresses, girls should go for a soft make up look that will compliment their dress.
